What Wading Boots Should I Buy? One of the most important things to consider lure fishing for bass is having a good pair of wading boots. It’s best to be firm on your feet, especially with some of the hazards that are in the water.

For me personally, wading over kelp is not always for the faint-hearted. But we all know that these areas can be a great hunting ground for bass. So we will research which type of boot is the best for wading over seaweed or kelp and other terrains.

Waders

In the article ‘What wader should I buy for bass fishing, I go through some of the options for waders, although not all great for wading over the kelp and rocks. I also mention some of the unfortunate experiences I have had by not having a decent pair of wading boots.

So below are a few key things to consider when buying a decent pair of wading boots.

Safety Is Important When Choosing Wading Boots

Let’s face it if you’re going to splash out on a decent pair of wading boots; then you’re going to want to feel safe. Therefore, having a pair of specifically designed boots is an essential thing you should consider before purchasing.

Daytime Fishing and Wading Boots

Wading through the water can be an awkward experience if you’re not careful where you tread. Remember, you would normally have a rod in your hand that could hamper your balance if you were too tired awkwardly.

Night Fishing

In the daytime, it’s a lot easier to see where you are going. Nighttime is a different kettle of fish. I wouldn’t venture over a flooding tide over the rocks on my own, especially at night.

If you did decide to fish at night on your own, you should always stay away from danger. Ultimately, stay out of the water.

Weight For Wading Boots

This is another fairly important thing to consider when purchasing your boots. Let’s face it; your boots are going to feel heavier once you’re in the water. So when we step back on dry land, we want that water to drain away immediately. Some boots will hold the water and feel really heavy.

Previously

In the past, I have purchased cheap hiking boots, thinking I’d had a result. Unfortunately, they held all the water, and the eyelets corroded and snapped off after only a few fishing trips. They were compatible but didn’t last. This is why it pays to invest in a great pair of wading boots.

Good Drainage For Your Boots

Great wading boots will have channels to let the water instantly drain away. Also, the materials in the boots do not hold onto the water, which is exactly what we want.
